Celebrity Hair at the Oscars - Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard's hair was styled by Frederic Fekkai stylist Robert Vetica, who gave her this fabulous Veronica Lake-style Forties look. Below we exclusively reveal Robert's styling tips to get the look...

"Marion's hair was sprayed liberally with Fekkai Coiff Defense Pre-Style and Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel and then blow-dried using the hands instead of a brush til the hair was 70 per cent dry to give volume. Then using a round brush the hair was blown straight, section by section.

Hair was then side parted over the eyebrow and sprayed with Fekkai Coiff Shape & Set Mist. Beginning at the crown, Vetica took two-inch sections of hair and wound them around a large-barrelled curling iron. To get this vintage curl effect, Vetica alternated the direction of each curl — one backwards, the next forwards and so on.

Curls were then loosened using the fingers as a comb and sprayed to keep it all in place."
